Sun köper upp MySQL
Sun har tecknat avtal med MySQL om uppköp av det svenska databasföretaget för en miljard dollar, motsvarande drygt 6,3 miljarder kronor. Det stod klart på onsdagen.

Europeans spent 401.2 mln euros in 2007
European digital music spending in 2007 was 401.2 mln euros, an increase of 63% compared to 2006, according to JupiterResearch. The European market trails the US by approximately two years but it will gain momentum, and by 2010 spending will help halt the decline in music revenues, culminating in 2 bln euros of digital revenues by 2012.

Men recall mobile ads 20% better
GfK NOP found men to have 20% higher advertising recall than women. African-Americans had twice the recall of whites and those under 24 had twice the recall of those over 50. 82% of active users were under 24 and African-American and Hispanic consumers were 50% more likely to be SMS users than white ones. Single people were half again as likely to text as married people.

70% of young adults visit video-sharing sites
70% of internet users of age 18-29 have visited video-sharing sites, up 27% from the 2006 period’s 55%, according to Pew Internet and American Life Project.

56% of Americans use SMS, 33% see ads on cell phones
33% of US mobile subscribers, or 78 mln people, saw or listened to an ad on their cell phone during Q4 2007, according to GfK NOP Research. 56% of Americans use SMS. Mobile gaming and surfing the mobile Web were both at about 28%, while less than 10% watch mobile TV. 33% of cell customers who have seen mobile ads, most received them via SMS or MMS text messaging. 33% remembered brands being promoted.

De nyvunna kunderna gör Aspiro till ett av de största företagen i landet inom mobil marknadsföring, säger Jan Erik Sørgaard, på Aspiro. Under 2007 har Apiro genomfört kampanjer för bland annat kunder som SAS, Telenor, GM, Eurocard, Stena Line, Dell, MTV, Coca Cola, Tele2, Sesam, Nokia, Canon, Unicef och Cederquist. Numera ingår även Aftonbladet i bolagets kundportfölj.
